Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-focused gameplay may hit a wall because the core loop centers on travel planning, resources, and story choices.
- Players who want a fixed, predictable campaign may find the branching routes and changing journey events too variable.
- Players who dislike managing a constantly advancing clock may struggle once departures and arrivals begin constraining route choices.
Our take on 80 Days
The bounce point arrives when the clock, transport schedules, finances, health, equipment, and luggage must be managed together. Players who prefer leisurely exploration may hit the wall during route planning, where a delayed departure or an overloaded inventory can affect the rest of the journey.
What is 80 Days?
Play as Passepartout, Phileas Fogg’s valet, during an 1872 circumnavigation wager with a steampunk twist.
Choose routes between 170 cities across a 3D globe, using trains, steamers, airships, submarines, boats, camels, horses, and other transport. The clock continues during the journey, so travel plans must account for departures, arrivals, finances, health, equipment, luggage, and Fogg’s trust. Interactive scenes present thousands of choices involving trade, romance, murder, rebellion, and intrigue. Different routes and decisions can reveal shortcuts, create setbacks, or change the outcome. A live multiplayer feed shows other players’ journeys as they happen, and journeys can be shared with friends.
