We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Adventure players drawn to archaeology and fictional ancient languages rather than combat-focused play.
- Players who want story progression shaped by choices and discoveries instead of a fixed sequence.
- Readers who enjoy character relationships that change in response to dialogue and behavior.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a tightly linear story may find the flexible order of discoveries less suited to their preference.

Our take on Heaven's Vault
Many adventure games guide players through a fixed sequence of scenes. Here, discoveries can come in different orders, and deciphering an artefact is part of the story rather than a separate language puzzle: a mistaken reading can redirect the investigation.
What is Heaven's Vault?
Play as archaeologist Aliya Elasra, investigating ancient space known as the Nebula alongside Six, her robot companion.
After a roboticist disappears, she follows discoveries through ruins and artefacts that reveal fragments of the distant past. Travel between archaeological sites and along space-rivers, and interpret hieroglyphs to piece together the world’s history and an ancient language. Each translation matters to the story: a mistaken interpretation may alter the course of the investigation. The adventure’s events can be approached in different sequences, with choices, findings, and actions affecting what follows. People Aliya encounters remember their conversations with her, and their reactions shift according to her behavior, influencing who she can rely on and what information comes to light.
How Heaven's Vault plays
- 01Hieroglyph translation
- Readings of artefacts can change the story’s direction, including when a translation is wrong.
- 02Adaptive story
- Choices, discoveries, and actions influence what happens later, and characters adjust their attitudes based on Aliya’s behavior.
- 03Space-river travel
- Aliya sails through an open region of flowing rivers while exploring ancient sites and ruins.
