Is Sorcery! Part 4 worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Interactive-fiction fans who want choices to affect a long-form fantasy adventure
- Fantasy RPG players who prefer exploration, deception, and spell discovery over a linear route
- Players continuing the Sorcery! series who want to import a Part 3 character and choices
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a tightly linear story may hit a wall when many remembered choices produce different routes and endings
- Players seeking straightforward combat may lose interest when progress also depends on disguises, deception, exploration, and spell discovery
- Players looking for a short standalone scenario may find the hidden content and multiple routes too demanding to explore fully
Our take on Sorcery! Part 4
Players who expect combat to carry the whole experience may bounce when progress shifts toward remembered choices, disguises, deception, and exploration. The citadel's branching structure also creates a friction point for anyone who wants a fixed route rather than consequences that continue shaping the story.
What is Sorcery! Part 4?
Sorcery!
Part 4 is an interactive fantasy adventure set in a cursed citadel filled with monsters, traps, magic, and hidden areas. Players travel through a hand-drawn 3D world, infiltrate the fortress using disguises, negotiate or deceive citizens, fight enemies, and discover spells. The story reacts to choices and actions, remembering decisions from minor acts to major events. Multiple endings, secret locations, and hundreds of hidden details support different routes through the adventure. Players can begin with Part 4 as a standalone story or import a character and previous choices from Part 3. The game also includes the Swindlestones bluffing game, seven gods with distinct powers, and new enemies such as mutants, guards, merchants, and undead.
