RPGIs Expelled! worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Detective-adventure players who want short, repeatable investigations
- Players who enjoy social deception and branching moral choices
- Fans of school mysteries who prefer time-limited narrative games
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long campaign in a single play-through may stop after the 30–45-minute run length.
- Players who want a fixed storyline may resist repeating runs to discover different leads and routes.
- Players looking for combat-focused RPG systems may find the investigation and social manipulation structure too narrow.
Our take on Expelled!
Players who dislike replaying short runs may bounce off after the first 30–45-minute attempt, since finding a successful route takes additional play-throughs. Those who prefer predictable character behavior may hit another wall when remembered actions alter later encounters.
What is Expelled!?
Expelled!
is a detective adventure set in 1922 at a boarding school for girls. Verity Amersham, a scholarship student, faces expulsion after being accused of attempting to murder a school prefect. During one school day, players can question people, spread falsehoods, steal, sneak through the school, and manipulate other characters while investigating the incident. Characters act independently and retain memories of what they witness and hear, allowing actions to affect later encounters. A morality system opens additional choices as Verity behaves more ruthlessly. Each play-through lasts about 30–45 minutes, with different leads and opportunities in subsequent runs. The game also includes other school mysteries, such as a locked cellar and a friend’s hidden secret.
How Expelled! plays

- More harmful conduct provides access to additional decisions.
- 04Replayable Investigations
- Repeat runs present different clues and new opportunities to change the outcome.
- 05Social Deception
- Verity can gather information, mislead people, take items, and move through the school covertly.
