What is Utopia Colony?
Set in 2033, Utopia Colony places an ex-Marine at a mining outpost in Utopia Planitia on Mars.
Begin with a small base, mine nearby rocks for ore, and sell the ore for credits. Credits fund buildings, equipment, repairs, food, water, and a rover for reaching more distant deposits. Missions take the player to outposts, facilities, and a domed colony, while research tasks become available after the base reaches its highest upgrade level and a researcher is hired. Solar flares raise surface radiation, requiring shelter in the Rua 51 underground facility. Dust storms can disrupt communication, disorient the player, and cause oxygen loss if the player becomes lost. A marketplace becomes available after station upgrades, with fluctuating ore prices.
