Our take on Young Souls
Rather than keeping combat and role-playing progression separate, the game joins a side-scrolling brawler with equipment upgrades and a story spanning two worlds. Between fights, gym visits connect character statistics to the next expedition.
What is Young Souls?
Young Souls follows twins Jenn and Tristan as they search for the scientist who raised them after he disappears.
A hidden portal leads them to a goblin world, where they battle enemies and explore dungeons while moving between that realm and the human world. The side-scrolling beat ’em up combines close-quarters combat with role-playing progression. Players can fight alone or in co-op, upgrade weapons, armor, and accessories, and adjust equipment to support attacking, defensive, or balanced approaches. The adventure spans four goblin-world biomes and includes more than 20 bosses. Between expeditions, the twins can train at a gym to raise their statistics, obtain footwear that boosts stats, and buy hats.
