Our take on Infernax
Its branching choices and upgrade options give the adventure flexibility, but they also make progression less predictable. Players must accept that decisions can change side quests, rewards, and endings rather than following one fixed route through the cursed land.
What is Infernax?
Infernax follows a knight returning to a homeland affected by unholy magic.
Exploration takes place across a dangerous open world containing hidden areas, side quests, castle dungeons, monsters, and boss battles. Combat rewards experience that can be assigned to health, mana, or damage, while money from defeated enemies can be spent on weapons and armor. Decisions such as helping or killing characters can alter side quests, rewards, and endings. The game includes a gory presentation and supports solo play with the squire Cervul as a support character. A separate mode offers two-player local co-op or lets one player switch between the knight and Cervul during play.

Infernax compared to similar games
Ghost of a Tale centers on a mouse protagonist, stealth, disguises, conversations, and exploration in an animal-populated medieval world, while Infernax focuses on direct combat, dungeons, bosses, upgrades, and branching choices. Vagante also uses a dark fantasy setting with monsters and adventure, but Infernax adds an open-world structure, local co-op, and decisions that affect quests and endings.
