Our take on KUNAI
The pitch gives substantial attention to movement, weapons, enemies, and visual style, while the story is presented mainly as a setup for the action. Its identity rests more on traversal and combat than narrative detail.
What is KUNAI?
KUNAI is a fast-paced action platformer starring Tabby, a tablet-shaped killer robot carrying an ancient warrior’s soul.
The game combines ninja movement with kunai-based grappling, swinging, and platform navigation across fallen cities, floating airships, artificial deserts, and other pixel-art areas. Progress comes through defeating enemy robots to gain abilities, weapons, and additional movement techniques. Exploration includes concealed routes, secrets, and encounters with friendly and hostile robots, including Earl, Chief, and the rogue A. I. Lemonkus. Combat uses a range of weapons against machines, androids, and mechs. Areas use distinct limited-color palettes, while the soundtrack draws on 16-bit references. Screen shake can be disabled.
