Instead of keeping the action-RPG structure on foot, Star Vortex transfers progression, loot, builds, and equipment choices to a customizable spacecraft. Procedurally generated sectors replace a fixed route, while ship construction adds visual and functional design to the genre’s usual combat loop.
What is Star Vortex?
Star Vortex is a top-down action RPG space shooter in which a pilot escorts a mothership toward Earth while searching for gateway keys.
Players explore procedurally generated sectors, fight enemies and bosses, complete rescues and convoy missions, and collect equipment for different builds. Experience unlocks larger ships, additional weapon and equipment slots, and three upgrade trees. Ship customization covers appearance, parts, and slot placement, with designs that can be saved, imported, and exported. Weapons include lasers, missiles, drones, turrets, and other systems. Sectors may contain heat, corrosion, or surprise invasions. The game supports solo play, online or LAN co-op, optional player-versus-player combat, customizable controls, multiple difficulty settings, and Hardcore Mode.
