Is Brigands worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Local co-op groups who want short, intense dungeon sessions
- Players who prefer direct hack-and-slash combat over stealth or crafting
- RPG players interested in class selection, leveling, weapons, and companions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a slow, exploration-led adventure may find the high-intensity combat focus too narrow
- Players wanting a large, open-ended RPG may find the short-session structure and focused dungeon format limiting
- Players without local multiplayer partners may not use the game's cooperative class synergies
Our take on Brigands
The focus on brief, high-intensity local sessions limits the space for slower exploration and broader solo-RPG systems. Its varied classes, hazards, and co-op interactions are concentrated into a direct dungeon-crawling format rather than a large world.
What is Brigands?
Brigands is a top-down medieval fantasy action adventure combining dungeon exploration with hack-and-slash combat.
It supports one to four players on a single computer and offers three activity types: traditional exploration on foot, mine-wagon sections, and levels featuring tameable tortoises. Five classes—Barbarian, Huntress, Paladin, Saboteur, and Sorceress—use skills and attributes gained through leveling. Combat includes allied power combinations, adaptive enemies, elite foes, and boss encounters. Progression also includes more than 50 weapons to unlock and six companions. Interactive environments contain secrets, puzzles, and traps. The game was developed by one person and is aimed at short, high-intensity play sessions.
