Our take on Even the Ocean
The game trades campaign length for a focused blend of platforming, environmental puzzles, and story exploration. Its selectable presentation modes also narrow the experience around preferred story or gameplay emphasis, rather than combining every element into one fixed format.
What is Even the Ocean?
Even the Ocean is a story-focused 2D platformer about Aliph, a technician working with the government after a workplace accident disrupts her world.
Travel through towns, cities, power plants, and the countryside while investigating an unknown threat and repairing dangerous facilities. Platforming challenges use Light and Dark Energy to alter movement: Light increases jump height, while Dark increases running speed. An energy bar, a four-directional shield, hazards, and puzzle-based levels shape each area. Conversations with friends, allies, and travelers support the human-centered story. Difficulty and presentation can be adjusted through Complete, Story-only, or Gameplay-only options. The campaign is described as lasting 6–8+ hours.
