Rather than centering its structure on open-ended space travel, the game organizes combat into 50-plus levels and recurring sector bosses. Its bosses also function as changing skill puzzles, while ship switching makes offensive and defensive trade-offs part of moment-to-moment play.
What is Survive in Space?
Survive in Space is a skill-focused space shooter following Sasaki, a soldier who discovers that humanity is enslaved by the alien Chronicles.
Progression spans over 50 levels divided into sectors, with five bosses appearing every nine levels. Each boss uses changing mechanics and environments as a separate skill challenge. More than 20 enemy types fall into defensive, offensive, and supportive groups. Players can choose among five ships with different strengths and weaknesses, switch between offensive and defensive configurations, and develop nine ability upgrades. Four difficulty settings are available, alongside modes featuring additional enemies, planet fortresses, and asteroids. The game supports controllers, mouse input, custom keyboard bindings, and a music player with over 90 songs.
