Our take on Silent Depth 2: Pacific
Its defining structure is a patrol-based cat-and-mouse loop: locate ships, choose when to attack, then dive or run silently when destroyers respond.
What is Silent Depth 2: Pacific?
Silent Depth 2: Pacific is a sim-lite submarine game set during World War II patrols in the Pacific.
Players command a Gato-class submarine, scout merchant ships, attack convoys with torpedoes and deck guns, and evade destroyers using dives or silent running. Combat includes automatically calculated torpedo firing solutions, while day-night cycles and changing weather affect encounters and visibility. Enemy fleets can use depth charges, and submarine damage may temporarily or permanently disable ship systems. Patrols also require monitoring limited resources while pursuing a daily tonnage score. The game uses an arcade-style structure rather than manual torpedo-vector calculations and is presented as an Early Access title.
