Is Dagger Directive worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Tactical FPS fans who want missions with multiple approaches
- Co-op groups seeking coordinated squad operations
- Players who enjoy loadout customization and deliberate combat
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fast, linear shooter rather than large areas with planned approaches
- Players wanting a finished feature set instead of an Early Access game with future systems planned
- Players looking for a short campaign rather than 15 missions across three regions
Our take on Dagger Directive
Its tactical sandbox trades immediate arcade pacing for preparation and careful execution. Choosing equipment, timing, routes, and combat methods adds decision-making before and during each mission, but players seeking constant forward motion may find that structure slower.
What is Dagger Directive?
Dagger Directive is a tactical first-person shooter built around mission planning and open-ended combat.
Players select a loadout, choose the time of day, and operate across large areas with multiple entry points. The game includes three campaigns set in the Bering Sea, the South Pacific, and Eastern Europe, with 15 missions in Early Access. Its arsenal contains more than 25 weapons with customizable attachments, supported by drones, tripwires, grenades, and mines. Combat simulates bullet and shrapnel behavior, including trajectory, velocity, and ricochets. Players can use darkness, foliage, vertical routes, and environmental objects during operations. Full co-op multiplayer supports squad-based missions. A mission editor, Free Play Mode, expanded tutorials, and modding support are planned for future updates.
