Our take on Urban Strife
Its defining structure is the combination of turn-based firefights with a persistent shelter: supplies, repairs, and faction choices shape preparation for the eventual siege.
What is Urban Strife?
Urban Strife is a turn-based tactical survival RPG set in a post-apocalyptic city two years into a zombie pandemic.
Explore areas controlled by gangs, soldiers, cultists, refugees, and undead while recruiting militia fighters and choosing among three faction blocs. Combat uses action points, body-part targeting, stealth, melee weapons, overwatch, interrupts, and simulated bullet trajectories, pellets, and explosive fragments. Cover depends on its material, thickness, and angle. At the Shelter, gather food, medicine, fuel, morale items, and materials; repair and expand facilities, and produce ammunition and weapon equipment. Story choices affect allies, shelter upgrades, and long-term benefits before the siege and final battle.
How Urban Strife plays
- 01Ballistic Combat
- Firearms, shotgun pellets, and grenade fragments follow separate simulated paths, with cover affected by its material, thickness, and angle.
- 02Body-Part Targeting
- Attacks can focus on heads, limbs, or central body areas to produce different tactical effects.
- 03Faction Alliances
- The National Guard, Church of Second Chance, and Shady Lady biker charter offer different story routes and shelter benefits.
- 04Shelter Management
- Repair and expand facilities, gather supplies, and produce ammunition and weapon equipment.
- 05Zombie Horde Phase
- Undead take their turns in a shared phase while retaining individual decisions during large encounters.
- 06Stealth And Melee
- Silent takedowns, improvised weapons, and overwatch ambushes provide alternatives to noisy firearms.
