Good fit- Point-and-click adventure fans who want a puzzle-led story
- Players seeking a short, calm science-fiction setting rather than action combat

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat, fast movement, or action-focused encounters may bounce off the predominantly point-and-click puzzle structure.
- Players wanting a long adventure may reach the credits sooner than expected.
- Players who prefer realistic settings may not connect with its plant-filled biopunk station and alien cast.
Our take on Growbot
The likely bounce point is the puzzle loop: players expecting combat or constant movement will instead spend most of the game examining machinery, interacting with unusual beings, and combining flower sounds. Those seeking a lengthy adventure may also hit the credits sooner than expected.
What is Growbot?
Growbot is a 2D point-and-click adventure set on a biopunk space station.
Nara, a growbot training to become a captain, must protect the station after rapidly spreading crystals attack it. Exploration involves repairing unusual machinery and meeting plants and alien inhabitants. Puzzle solving uses Nara’s Brain(apilla), while flower sounds can be gathered and combined into shields. The journey also introduces Star Belly, a white hologram containing a galaxy, and follows a story about flowers and their tangled roots. The game uses hand-drawn art and music, with development for Windows, Linux, and Mac.
