Our take on Ghost on the Shore
The bounce point arrives when dialogue choices become permanent. Players accustomed to revisiting conversations, experimenting with outcomes, or relying on conventional save-based trial and error may find the one-time options restrictive, especially as decisions determine one of four story branches.
What is Ghost on the Shore?
Ghost on the Shore is a story-focused exploration game set across the Rogue Islands.
Riley walks through abandoned homes and coastal scenery with Josh, a ghost who has been dead for an unknown length of time. Players collect belongings, examine clues, and discuss the island’s past, Josh’s memories, and Riley’s life. Dialogue choices affect the relationship between Riley and Josh, with every option appearing only once, making decisions permanent. The story branches into four relationship paths, each with a different ending. English voice acting accompanies English and German subtitles; Spanish, French, Russian, Portuguese, and Dutch subtitle support is listed as forthcoming. A Linux version is also listed as forthcoming.
