Song of Horror is a third-person survival horror adventure using fixed-camera views.
The investigation begins after writer Sebastian P. Husher and his family disappear, followed by the disappearance of an assistant sent to find them. Players explore haunted locations, collect clues and objects, and solve puzzles while avoiding The Presence, an entity that cannot be fought. Its AI responds to player actions and decisions, changing how it pursues its targets rather than relying only on scripted events.
The story is experienced through several characters connected to the case. Each character has different knowledge and abilities, but any of them can die permanently. When a character dies, the investigation continues through another character. Locations include an antique shop, an abbey, and an abandoned mental hospital.
