Play it if you…
Good fit- Action-adventure players who want sword-focused combat
- Players who enjoy restarting after failure and repeating progressively harder levels
- Completionists who want optional exploration and challenge objectives
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking forgiving progression may dislike restarting from the beginning after death or quitting
- Players wanting a broad range of gameplay systems may find the focus on level clearing and sword combat narrow
- Players who prefer relaxed pacing may find the restrictive challenge rules frustrating
Our take on Epic Pirate
Permanent death gives each run a high cost, but it also removes the convenience of resuming progress after a mistake or an interrupted session. The design favors repeated full attempts over gradual advancement through the levels.
What is Epic Pirate?
Epic Pirate is an adventure game about clearing pirate skeletons from several increasingly difficult levels.
Combat centers on sword attacks and combinations of different combat skills. Players can lock onto enemies, strike from behind for occasional sneak attacks, and switch skills during battles. The game includes collectible-focused exploration, brawler-style sword fights, and permanent death: dying or quitting sends the player back to the beginning. Optional challenges include completing a speed run, exploring every part of each map, defeating every enemy, avoiding combat skills, and finishing the game while walking only. Some challenges impose additional restrictions, such as forbidding jumping, blocking, targeting, running, and sneak attacks.
How Epic Pirate plays
- 01Sword Skill Combinations

- 03Enemy Targeting
- Lock-on targeting and attacks from behind provide distinct combat approaches.
- 04Optional Challenges
- Extra goals include speed running, full-map exploration, enemy hunting, and restrictive combat rules.
