Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a quiet or slow-paced shooter may find the constant combat demanding
- Players who prefer predictable missions may dislike the randomized run structure
- Players looking for a relaxed game with limited enemy pressure may not suit its outnumbered encounters
Our take on Deadlink
The focus on repeated combat runs and escalating shell upgrades leaves less room for a slower, narrative-led campaign structure. Its movement-heavy design also places less emphasis on quiet infiltration, despite the missions being framed as covert operations.
What is Deadlink?
Deadlink is a cyberpunk first-person shooter with roguelite structure.
Players operate an autonomous combat shell during covert military missions across slums, laboratories, warehouses, and corporate offices. Each run uses randomized elements and pits the shell against larger groups of enemies. Movement focuses on constant action, including dashing, jumping, and using surroundings during fights. Weapon loadouts support different approaches, such as long-range attacks, status effects, or direct firepower. Combat environments can be destroyed, while skills and technology can be upgraded between runs. Losing a shell ends that attempt, but subsequent shells begin with stronger abilities and weapons.
How Deadlink plays
- 01Randomized Runs
- Each attempt changes the mission experience while keeping the player outnumbered.
- 02Upgradeable Combat Shells
- New shells can start with improved skills and stronger weapons after earlier losses.
- 03Flexible Weapon Kits
- Loadouts support sniping, status-based attacks, and direct gunfire.
- 04Destructible Environments
- Combat takes place in spaces that can be damaged during missions.
- 05Movement-Based Combat
- Dashing, jumping, and using the surroundings are part of surviving encounters.
