Our take on Space Shells
Fuel barrels make stray shots and poorly aimed grenades a run-ending risk, tying combat decisions directly to the possibility of starting over.
What is Space Shells?
Space Shells is a sci-fi VR roguelite about an intergalactic mercenary boarding spaceships and fighting enemy droids.
Missions take place on randomly generated ships, with enemies positioned at different posts. Each playthrough starts with a new shell and mission, and the story changes according to actions taken aboard each ship. Players can adjust mission difficulty, use weapons or fight bare-handed, and upgrade weapons and shells for harder missions. Grenades and stray shots can ignite nearby fuel barrels, potentially ending a run. Progress through the missions to uncover a corporation’s secrets and unlock additional weapons and shells.
