ActionIs Hubris worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- VR action-adventure players who want swimming, climbing, and jumping alongside combat
- Science-fiction fans who want a mission involving factions, agents, and a missing operative
- Players who prefer shooting games with resource gathering, crafting, and weapon upgrades
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a primarily non-combat experience may bounce off the repeated fights against wildlife, droids, and humanoid enemies.
- Players who want a passive or stationary VR experience may hit a wall with the required swimming, climbing, jumping, and machinery control.
- Players looking for a flat-screen game rather than a VR title will not fit the game's presentation.
Our take on Hubris
The likely bounce point is the movement system: progression expects players to swim, climb, jump, and operate machinery in VR. Anyone uncomfortable with active VR traversal may stop before the weapon crafting and faction-driven mission have room to develop.
What is Hubris?
This VR action-adventure casts the player as a trainee preparing to join the Order of Objectivity.
Accompanied by pilot Lucia, the recruit heads to a paired-planet region in pursuit of the missing agent Cyanha. A terraformed world supports swimming, climbing, and jumping, while hostile alien animals, robots, and humanoid foes require combat. The journey also involves collecting materials, preparing food, making weapons, improving weaponry, and operating vehicles and other machines. Rival groups are also hunting for the Order of Objectivity’s secrets, creating an additional objective during the mission.
