Our take on Backrooms: Extractions
Rather than treating escape as the endpoint, the game makes rescue the central objective. Its repeatable operations combine investigation, documentation, and extraction, while persistent rank and storage sit alongside the risk of losing carried gear.
What is Backrooms: Extractions?
Backrooms: Extractions is a cooperative horror game for solo play or groups of up to 6.
Each operation involves finding missing agents, transmitting information, solving level puzzles, recording entities, and surviving until an extraction window opens. Seven threats have distinct senses and behaviors. Players choose equipment before deployment, including detectors, PDAs, paint guns, glowsticks, cameras, and beacons. Gear carried into a failed run is lost, while rank, storage, and reputation persist between missions. Seven environments support changing missions, loot, and enemy behavior. Endless Loop Mode creates an infinite sequence with rising danger and shrinking resources. The game is in Early Access and includes voice chat, 25 languages, and two currencies.
