Our take on Zelter
Instead of treating a zombie outbreak as a purely grim combat scenario, Zelter pairs survival systems and defensive escalation with cute pixel graphics. Its structure also divides play between a finite six-day rescue challenge and an endless mode focused on keeping recruited civilians alive.
What is Zelter?
Zelter places a survivor in a city isolated by a zombie outbreak.
Gameplay combines scavenging, crafting, exploration, combat, hunting, and foraging. Resources support progression from stone spears and a basic campfire to firearms, barricades, and automated turrets. Challenge Mode lasts six days, with escalating threats, civilian rescues, shelter defense, and an evacuation helicopter. Pioneer Mode is an endless mode centered on recruiting non-player survivors, learning about their backgrounds, and keeping them alive through hunger, thirst, and zombie attacks. Recruited civilians can support the defense but may succumb to pressure. The game presents its zombie-survival setting with pixel graphics and an intentionally cute visual style.
