Our take on Wings of Glory
Each round hinges on choosing three maneuvers in secret, then revealing them simultaneously with the opposing pilots.
What is Wings of Glory?
Wings of Glory adapts Ares Games’ tabletop aerial-combat game into a digital strategy experience set in 1917.
Players pilot World War I biplanes and choose three maneuvers in secret each round. The choices are revealed at the same time, making flight planning and predicting opponents central to each dogfight. Maneuvers depend on the plane model, and damage changes which maneuvers remain available during a fight. Players line up enemy aircraft in their firing arcs and shoot. Special mission objectives add bombing runs and attacks on trenches, with air superiority as another goal. The game supports cross-platform tabletop dogfights.
How Wings of Glory plays
- 01Simultaneous Maneuver Selection
- Each round, players secretly choose three flight actions before all choices are revealed together.
- 02Damage-Based Maneuvers
- Taking damage changes the flight actions available to a plane.
- 03Mission Objectives
- Some objectives call for bombing runs or attacks on enemy trenches.
