Our take on Scramble: Battle of Britain
Dogfights unfold through a fixed cycle: command maneuvers, watch the simulation, then rewind the engagement to inspect damage and pilot survival.
What is Scramble: Battle of Britain?
Scramble: Battle of Britain presents tactical aerial combat above the English Channel in 1940.
Each turn has three stages: plan aircraft maneuvers, watch the simulation resolve, then review the action from different angles. Aircraft have vulnerable components, including fuel tanks, radiators, engines, ailerons, and elevators. Pilots can tire, be injured, lose consciousness, or die. Squadron Leader mode puts twelve individual pilots in an RAF squadron across thirty days of interceptions. Dogfight Generator lets players create encounters for either faction, with up to twelve aircraft. The current roster includes the Spitfire, Hurricane, Messerschmitt 109 and 110, Stuka, and Dornier 17. Bristol Blenheim, Junkers 88, and Heinkel 111 are identified as upcoming aircraft.
