Is Stargate: Timekeepers worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Stargate SG-1 fans who want an original campaign in that universe
- Strategy players who prefer real-time team tactics over turn-based combat
- Players who enjoy coordinating specialists through story-led missions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking large-scale battlefield control may hit a limit with its focus on a small specialist team
- Players who want turn-based planning may bounce off the real-time action and synchronized timing
- Players looking for a broad role-playing system may find the emphasis on fixed specialist abilities and a 14-mission campaign too narrow
Our take on Stargate: Timekeepers
The bounce point arrives when several specialists must act in coordination rather than independently. Players who prefer issuing broad commands or taking turns may struggle with the real-time timing required to combine abilities and execute silent attacks.
What is Stargate: Timekeepers?
Lead a newly formed specialist unit through a 14-mission campaign set in the Stargate SG-1 universe.
The story begins during the Battle of Antarctica and continues with missions involving the Jaffa Resistance, Moloc’s forces and the Unas. Characters have distinct roles and abilities: Eva uses automatic rifles and identifies weak points, Max operates as a long-range sniper, Sam handles alien technology, and Derreck deploys drones for healing and electronic interference. A’ta and Xugga later join the Tau’ri team. Missions focus on stealth, planning and coordinated attacks behind enemy lines. Tactical Mode synchronizes actions across multiple characters, allowing combined ability use against Kull Warriors, Jaffa Generals, Moloc’s Officers and other enemies.
