What is Slap Fight?

Slap Fight is a 1986 vertical shooter in which a lone pilot battles the AI Goudy aboard the spacecraft Leopold.

Its two-button controls govern a ship equipped with bombs, lasers, missiles, and other weapons. Power-ups are selected through a gauge, and the ship's hitbox expands as its firepower grows, adding risk to weapon upgrades. The PC version includes arcade-style emulation, beginner and very easy modes, and a practice mode with customizable settings. Players can save and reload at chosen points, rewind between 10 and 18 minutes depending on the action, and submit scores to online leaderboards. Other additions include assist options, replay capture, mirror mode, gameplay information panels, and screen rotation.
