Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who prefer slower-paced action may hit a wall when enemy projectiles fill the screen.
- Players seeking a single clear endpoint may bounce off the Special version's four increasingly difficult loops.
- Players looking for a story-led adventure may find the focus on combat encounters a poor match.
Our take on Batsugun
The likely sticking point is the Special version’s escalating loop structure: completing a run leads into another loop at higher difficulty, with four loops to master. Players who want a single clear endpoint may stop when that repeat-and-escalate system begins.
What is Batsugun?
Batsugun is a sci-fi shoot-'em-up where players choose one of six pilots and one of three ship types, then fight enemy attacks that demand vigilance.
Defeated enemies provide experience points that increase firepower. The included Special version changes the visuals and enemy behavior, and adds four increasingly difficult loops. Its smaller hitbox and one-hit shield distinguish it from the original. Options include adjustable assist features, a Very Easy Mode, customizable practice, quick saves, and rewinding gameplay for 10–18 minutes depending on the action. Online leaderboards cover Single Credit, No Assist, and Assisted play, and players can save replays. The PC release also offers display scaling, screen rotation, input options, Steam Achievements, and gameplay information panels.
