Our take on Ray’z Arcade Chronology
The defining mechanic is the lock-on laser, which lets a single input mark multiple enemies for simultaneous destruction and shapes how threats are handled on screen.
What is Ray’z Arcade Chronology?
Ray’z Arcade Chronology collects five entries from Taito’s Ray series: RayForce, RayStorm, RayStorm neo-HD, RayCrisis, and RayCrisis HD.
These vertically scrolling science-fiction shooters use a lock-on laser that targets multiple enemies for simultaneous destruction. The collection includes arcade-faithful versions, HD presentations of RayStorm and RayCrisis, screen filters, supplementary information through off-screen gadgets, and original and arranged music. Players can use landscape display or rotate a monitor for portrait play. A save-anywhere function supports practice at difficult sections, while downloadable replay data provides examples of high-level play. The series also presents its setting and story through gameplay, accompanied by music composed by Tamayo.
