Our take on Rise of the Third Power
The premise centers on eight heroes and a continent-wide conflict, while the equipment system is unusually specific: upgrades persist instead of being replaced, and each character has multiple slots to develop. That shifts some of the RPG's progression focus from sorting replacements to pursuing upgrades.
What is Rise of the Third Power?
Rise of the Third Power is a story-driven, turn-based RPG set in Rin, fifteen years after a major war.
Prince Rowan, spy Corrina, and princess Arielle join forces against the expanding Arkadyan Empire, with political scheming and a new conflict looming. The party includes eight playable characters, each with distinct strengths and weaknesses; all participate in battles, where players choose a formation and combine abilities. Equipment is upgraded rather than replaced: each character has two weapons, an accessory, and ten equipment slots, with 80 craftable upgrades in total. The game uses pixel art and includes auto-save and streamlined progression. Its story combines humor, drama, and tragedy as the group takes on a mission to challenge the emperor.
