Our take on Kingdom of Night
The page gives substantial space to class and loot customization, but the story is also framed around John’s rescue mission and a sequence of side stories. The advertised open-ended exploration still centers on a single town and its demon invasion.
What is Kingdom of Night?
Set in Miami, Arizona, in 1987, this isometric action RPG follows John as he tries to rescue his friends and confront a demonic invasion.
The town is presented as an interconnected map with freely explored areas, quests, NPCs, and side stories. Players choose one of five classes—Barbarian, Knight, Rogue, Necromancer, or Sorcerer—and spend level-up points across three skill-tree branches, with access to another branch after reaching level 10 in the first. Equipment comes from quests, hidden items, and random drops with varying drop rates. Demon Generals can be tackled in the order players choose. The campaign can be played solo or with a friend in local co-op.
