Our take on Dungeon Drafters
The defining tension is the decision to continue deeper into a dungeon or return to town with loot before it can be lost.
What is Dungeon Drafters?
Dungeon Drafters is a tile-based dungeon crawler with rogue-lite elements, where magic takes the form of cards.
Choose one of six adventurers, each with a signature starting deck, then explore six dungeons, collect cards and treasure, rescue lost adventurers, and fight enemies with card-based attacks and combos. During a run, decide whether to continue deeper or return to town to secure collected loot. Town activities include preparing for the next expedition, acquiring cards through boosters, unlocking new cards, talking with NPCs, starting challenging quests, and fishing. New cards can support different deck concepts, regardless of the character chosen at the start. The overall objective is to build a spell deck capable of banishing evil and forbidden cards.
How Dungeon Drafters plays
- 01Six Adventurers
- Each character begins with a distinct deck that sets an initial play style but does not restrict later deck choices.
- 02Six Dungeons
- Each area has its own monsters and encourages changes to the deck while searching for particular cards.
- 03Loot Risk
- Continuing farther into a dungeon can put collected rewards at risk, while returning to town secures them.
- 04Town Activities
- The town offers boosters, card unlocking, NPC conversations, quests, and fishing between dungeon runs.
