ActionIs Out Zone worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Run-and-gun fans who want solo arcade-style shooting
- Friends seeking a co-op shooter with a shared alien threat
- Arcade shooter players who want practice tools and adjustable assistance
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a slow, exploration-led pace may hit a wall in the repeated enemy-fighting runs.
- Players who do not want to track a resource during combat may struggle with the constantly draining battery.
- Players looking for a story-focused adventure rather than a vertical shooter may find its combat structure too narrow.
Our take on Out Zone
The likely bounce point is the battery: it keeps draining while alien waves demand attention, so players who want to focus only on aiming and shooting may hit a wall managing both. Very Easy mode and auto-fire provide options for players who want less challenge.
What is Out Zone?
Out Zone is a vertical run-and-gun shooter in which a cyborg mercenary fights alien attackers.
Play alone or join a friend in co-op, using weapons that include omnidirectional lasers, shotguns, the Super Burner, and the Super Ball. A battery steadily depletes, so staying alive also means managing that resource. The PC version includes quick saves, rewind, replay capture, online leaderboards, and a customizable practice mode. Players can use auto-fire, choose Very Easy mode, adjust display scaling, or rotate the playfield in 90-degree steps. Leaderboards separate Single Credit, No Assist, and Assisted runs. The game also includes arcade emulation, Steam Achievements, and the original soundtrack.
