Our take on One Deck Galaxy
Its focus on dice allocation and civilization progression leaves less room for direct, moment-to-moment combat. Players divide attention between expanding their federation and responding to adversaries, so neither objective stands alone as the entire experience.
What is One Deck Galaxy?
Build a civilization from a homeworld and society, then expand across the star systems of Insula.
Dice management drives colonization, resource gathering, technology development, scientific research, probe launches, fleet construction, and milestone progression. Each of the 5 homeworlds and 5 societies has distinct abilities, starting technologies, or milestones, while each adversary introduces different rules and abilities to overcome. Sessions can be played individually or as part of a 6-game progressive Campaign, with ability upgrades between games. The game combines civilization growth with direct confrontation, requiring choices about where to spend dice and how to divide efforts between expansion and opposing threats. It includes hundreds of possible setups.
