Our take on Aeon's End
The defining constraint is that exhausted decks are not shuffled: discard order remains intact, turning every card played or discarded into part of future planning.
What is Aeon's End?
Aeon’s End is a cooperative deck-building card game for up to four mages.
Each player begins with a 10-card deck and uses gems to gain aether, buy cards, prepare spells, and open or focus breaches for casting. Relics can support the player or allies. Decks are not shuffled when exhausted, so discard order shapes later turns. Instead, a shuffled turn-order deck determines who acts next, allowing the nemesis or the mages to take several consecutive turns. Players fight one of four nemeses, each with distinct mechanics, while protecting Gravehold. The market contains 27 unique gems, relics, and spells, with random or chosen setup options. The game includes eight mages, four nemeses, and multiple win and loss conditions.
How Aeon's End plays
- 01Cooperative Mage Team
- Players can form a group of up to four mages, each with a distinct starting card and chargeable ability.
- 02Persistent Deck Order
- Cards stay in discard order when the deck runs out, making discard choices affect future turns.
- 03Variable Turn Sequence
- A shuffled turn-order deck decides whether mages or the nemesis act next each round.
- 04Modular Market Setup
- The 27-card market can be generated randomly or assembled during setup.
- 05Nemesis-Specific Mechanics
- Each of the four included nemeses uses distinct mechanics, and its deck combines basic with enemy-specific cards.
- 06Gravehold Defense
- The battle is lost if the city reaches 0 life.
