Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a card game centered on unpredictable draws or random combat outcomes may find the controlled card order restrictive.
- Those who prefer a single deck and a simpler run structure may find managing exploration and battle decks demanding.
- Players looking for a multiplayer-focused game may not find that focus in the described mechanics.
Our take on Unders_core
Predictable card order gives planning a central role, but leaves less room for the surprise of an unknown draw. The paired-deck structure also asks players to divide attention between route choices and combat preparation rather than focusing on battle alone.
What is Unders_core?
Unders_core is a roguelike deckbuilding game set in a science-fiction world.
Each run involves building two decks: an Exploration deck for navigating events and a Battle deck for encounters. Cards arrive in a known queue rather than a draw pile, and card and character actions use limited randomness. Each card offers three possible actions, chosen to suit the situation. Players can alter their decks by removing dangerous events, adding improvements, and balancing upgrades or concentrating them on a strategy.
Exploration cards can also support battle strengths or weaken enemies. Once-per-battle submodules provide another tactical option. The story follows a backup copy of a veteran pilot’s mind in a powersuit, investigating an anomaly and the reason for its creation across repeated runs.
