- Players looking for combat as the main activity may find settlement management, crafting, and farming occupy more of the game
Our take on Humanica
The bounce point arrives when each day’s work allowance meets a growing list of survival tasks. Players who prefer broad, unconstrained construction may also hit the wall at the irregular building grid and terrain-editing system.
What is Humanica?
Build a settlement beginning in 10,000 B.
C. and guide it from the Paleolithic to the Iron Age. Residents gather resources, craft items, farm, raise animals, and smelt bronze and iron while working within daily limits. A large technology tree changes available options and requires adaptation to new conditions. Explore a procedurally generated, turn-based hexagonal map for seeds, animals, and other resources. Construction uses irregular quadrilateral plots, while editable square-based terrain allows mountains to be removed or raised. Wild animals and nomads threaten the settlement, which can be defended with armed settlers, walls, and towers. Laws and annual plans customize each playthrough, with some plans appearing randomly.
