Our take on Level Zero: Extraction
Its split between mercenary extraction and alien hunting gives raids two distinct roles, but ties the experience to asymmetric multiplayer rather than a conventional solo campaign. The extraction loop also centers progression on bringing loot out of dangerous zones.
What is Level Zero: Extraction?
Play alone or with friends as mercenaries searching exclusion zones for items to extract, or take the role of an alien monster hunting human players.
Raids take place across three maps: a space station, caves, and a research facility. Mercenaries use firearms and gadgets against mutants, turrets, and rival players, then seek an evacuation point. Equipment includes grenades, weapon attachments, motion detectors, light traps, and neurochips with perks. UV light can damage alien monsters. Extracted items, weapons, and crafting materials raise reputation with traders, unlocking items and cosmetic rewards. As an alien, players can use vents, traps, screams, and EMP waves to ambush humans. Mutations gained through leveling unlock variations on alien abilities.
