Our take on Land of the Vikings
Rather than treating settlement building as a fixed-grid exercise, the game allows free placement and visual customization. Its strategy structure also combines population management and seasonal survival with trade, raids, family growth, and villager traits.
What is Land of the Vikings?
Land of the Vikings is a settlement-management game focused on survival and expansion.
Players develop a village into a city by gathering wood, cultivating crops, hunting, mining ore, fishing, and preparing supplies for severe winters. Each villager has over 20 traits that shape which jobs suit them. Newcomers, family growth, and later generations increase the population. Disasters and weather, including earthquakes, fires, storms, and blizzards, put the community at risk.
A Trade Dock brings visiting ships and enables missions to other settlements. Raids yield gold, silver, and Fame points; heroes can lead troops in combat. Construction has no grid restrictions, and the Building Editor lets players personalize houses and create buildings and decorations. Fame points unlock options in the Yggdrasil technology tree.
