The defining structure is repeated uncertainty: world layouts, survivor traits, and the cure recipe are randomized for each session, so settlement priorities and the route toward the cure change from one game to the next.
What is Rekindling?
Rekindling is a settlement management game about rebuilding society after the ZTD virus turns much of the population into hostile Zims.
Players direct survivors to gather scraps, rocks, and wood, farm, mine, construct a settlement, and fight nightly attacks. Each session generates a world with different biomes, while survivors receive randomized goals, preferences, skills, and bad habits. The cure's recipe also changes between games. More than 100 building items support settlement construction. Online cooperative play allows two players to work on one base and pursue the cure together. A control mode locks the player to one survivor for a different challenge, while direct control can also be used during standard settlement management.
