Our take on Epidemic
The broad survival structure trades a tightly controlled defensive scenario for several connected activities: exploration, resource collection, terrain changes, farming, recruitment, and camp protection. That variety also makes the core defense task share attention with wider camp management.
What is Epidemic?
Epidemic places a soldier in charge of a hospital after infection cuts the base off from headquarters.
The hospital becomes a defensive camp in a city isolated by widespread cases. Players explore the open map, collect materials, and construct defenses around the base. Camp construction can include different structures and terrain changes intended to shape the defensive layout. Survivors found in the city can join the group and take part in exploration and survival activities. The group can also raise chickens and farm while resisting increasing numbers of monsters. The game combines city exploration, resource gathering, survivor recruitment, camp building, and defense against infected enemies.
How Epidemic plays
- 01Open City Exploration
- The map supports travel across an isolated city and investigation of its different areas.
- 02Hospital Base
- The hospital serves as the central camp that survivors must protect from infected creatures.
- 03Material Gathering
- Collected resources are used to construct camp defenses and other items.
- 04Terrain Modification
- Camp construction can include changing the surrounding ground to shape defensive positions.
- 05Survivor Recruitment
- Homeless survivors encountered in the city can join the group and accompany exploration.
- 06Farming Activities
- The camp supports raising chickens and growing crops alongside defense and exploration.
Epidemic compared to similar games
Epidemic combines hospital defense with open-city exploration, material collection, survivor recruitment, farming, and terrain-based camp construction. Until We Die centers on defending an underground subway station for about 30 game days against attacks brought by meteorites, giving it a more defined base-defense structure.
