Our take on Independence War® 2: Edge of Chaos
Rather than treating space combat as conventional arcade flight, the game centers Newtonian movement, including momentum and inertia. It also replaces a single-ship structure with four flyable vessels, detachable fighters, and a campaign spread across 16 star systems.
What is Independence War® 2: Edge of Chaos?
Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos follows a revenge-driven campaign against corporations across 16 star systems.
Players command four flyable ships, equip them with more than 30 weapons and accessories, and choose between free-flight controls or computer-assisted flight. Its flight model simulates linear and angular momentum, inertia, and rotational inertia. Detachable fighters can remain aboard as gun turrets or deploy as wingmen. The campaign unfolds through four story acts while dynamically created traffic includes freighters, patrols, taxis, and pirates. Multiplayer supports up to 8 players in DeathMatch, Capture the Flag, and other scenarios. Online servers are no longer maintained, but local-network multiplayer remains available.
How Independence War® 2: Edge of Chaos plays
- 01Newtonian flight model
