Our take on Absolute Territory
Instead of treating space combat as conventional aircraft combat, the game combines assisted flying with Newtonian movement, including velocity-preserving turns and unrestricted acceleration when assistance is disabled. Its campaign structure is paired with wave modes and player-made missions.
What is Absolute Territory?
Absolute Territory is a single-player space combat game built around futuristic dogfights.
Pilots select between fast and heavily armed ships, configure guns and missiles, and distribute power among engines, shields, and weapons during combat. Newtonian flight physics govern thrust, velocity, and rotation, while Flight Assist can provide automated corrections. Disabling it removes speed restrictions and enables unrestricted six-degree-of-freedom control. A slide function preserves current velocity while the ship turns, supporting strafing attacks and target tracking. Missions include encounters with starfighters, warships, mines, and asteroids, with turret destruction available as part of attacking larger vessels. The game includes 21 campaign missions, two wave-based leaderboard modes, Steam Workshop mission support, and a built-in level editor. Views include first-person cockpit and third-person perspectives.
How Absolute Territory plays
