Our take on The Tomorrow War
Rather than keeping space travel separate from planetary action, the game connects outer-space flight, atmospheric descent, and landing within the same travel model. Its settings also place hardcore simulation and near-arcade play on the same spectrum.
What is The Tomorrow War?
Set in the 27th century, this space simulation follows graduates of a military-space academy during a conflict between the United Earth Empire and Konkordia.
Gameplay includes local operations, large space battles, encounters with alien races, clashes with unofficial military organizations, and a final battle. Spacecraft range from fighters to ferry ships. Flights can continue from space into a planet's atmosphere, with landing possible on any part of the planet. Adjustable settings support either a hardcore space-simulation style or a near-arcade format. The game also includes dozens of non-player characters and locations, and draws on Alexander Zorich's trilogy of novels about two rival intergalactic empires.
