Our take on VED
The defining structure is Cyrus's ability to teleport between two interconnected worlds, with the story and exploration unfolding across both.
What is VED?
VED is a hand-drawn, story-driven RPG about Cyrus, a young man who can teleport between two connected worlds.
Players explore both settings, meet factions with competing views, and make choices that can have irreversible consequences and lead to different endings. Combat is turn-based, with positioning used to gain an advantage. In the Troglodyte village, players build structures to unlock spells and combine abilities for battles. Interactive events can place curses or blessings on Cyrus, with effects that may continue through the rest of a game. The story follows Cyrus as he learns about the two worlds and decides their fate.
How VED plays
- 01Two Connected Worlds
- Cyrus can teleport between settings that contain flying islands, unusual creatures, and dangerous monsters.
- 02Consequential Choices

- 03Position-Based Combat
- Battles are turn-based, and positioning can provide an advantage against enemies.
- 04Village Construction
- Building structures in the Troglodyte village unlocks spells and abilities.
- 05Curses and Blessings
- Interactive events can impose effects that last until the end of a game.
