SimulationIs Farlight Commanders worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Co-op groups who want to divide spaceship duties among up to 4 players
- Solo players who want to manage ship systems and fight on foot

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a purely space-based game may find the ground-combat segments a distraction.
- Players looking for a large roster of ships may find the focus on the Cantharis limiting.
- Players seeking a game centered on crafting or survival may prefer a different gameplay loop.
Our take on Farlight Commanders
The crew-role structure gives each player a defined job, but it also ties the experience to coordinating ship operations. The Cantharis is the ship described, so the focus is on managing its four stations rather than choosing among a broad fleet.
What is Farlight Commanders?
Farlight Commanders combines space combat with ground action.
Play solo or with up to 3 friends, with crew members taking the Commander, Soldier, Medic, or Technician role. During space battles, different sections of the ship can be damaged, and the crew must repair them. The Cantharis has four stations: drive, shields, energy, and artillery, each with distinct actions for the crew to manage. After fighting in space, players land and attack an enemy base to claim the planet. The story follows a council launching a counterattack against a corporation that controls planets and exploits their resources. The ship is described as an older destroyer from an earlier war, used in the effort to liberate planets.
