What is Evochron Mercenary?
Evochron Mercenary is a freeform space simulation in which players choose activities and pursue reputation, wealth, progress, and ranking.
Available work includes commodity trading, mining, racing, spying, escorting, combat, exploration, asteroid clearing, equipment cleaning, crew management, station construction, and ship design. Players can travel between planets and star systems, land at city trade stations, use environmental features such as nebulae and asteroid caves, and manage effects including gravity, fuel consumption, sensors, physics, and visibility. Ships, upgrades, weapons, crew, money, and commodities carry across single-player and multiplayer profiles.
Cooperative objectives pay linked players, while online stations can add trade routes, docking points, and economies. Flight uses a physics model based on mass, thrust, velocity, and directional control, with keyboard, mouse, gamepad, joystick, and TrackIR support.
