The premise emphasizes a resistance campaign and a divided world, but the described play centers on platforming combat and upgrades gathered during runs. The story setup gives context to the fighting, while the listed mechanics focus on changing attacks rather than detailing a broader campaign structure.
What is Blade Assault?
Blade Assault is a 2D action roguelite platformer set in a science-fiction world divided between mutant-filled outer lands, an underground refuge, and the city of Esperanza.
The story follows resistance fighters from the Undercity battling Esperanza’s military. Playable characters use transformable weapons, with each character having a separate armory. During runs, randomly appearing Cores and weapon upgrades change attacks and add combat options. Fighting includes dodging with dashes, using projectiles, and striking groups of enemies. NPCs encountered during the quest can provide upgrades and unlock powers. The game combines platforming and repeated combat runs with pixel-art presentation.
