Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a fixed level sequence may bounce off the procedurally generated run structure.
- Players who want a short, single-pass shooter may find the repeated runs and progression systems unsuitable.
- Players seeking stealth, dialogue, or exploration in a medieval setting may prefer a different type of action RPG.
Our take on Ares Omega
The bounce point arrives for players who do not enjoy rebuilding momentum between attempts. Progression depends on repeated runs, credits from earlier runs, and pre-run gear choices before facing the four-boss campaign finale.
What is Ares Omega?
Ares Omega is a top-down rogue-lite shooter set at a military facility on Mars seized by autonomous weaponized robots.
Each run uses procedurally generated levels as a soldier advances through the base, fights robot forces, and targets the rebellion’s leaders. Character progression includes 45 skills divided among 3 skill trees, while more than 50 weapons can be found and unlocked. Credits earned during earlier runs can be spent on gear before starting again. The campaign culminates in four boss encounters against Enyo, Deimos, Phobos, and Ares Omega. The objective is to reclaim the facility by force and destroy the robots blocking the mission.
